The Garage Door Depot® was founded in 2007 as a new subsidiary company of Canadian Access & Doors Systems. The management team at Canadian Access & Door Systems decided that the company needed a new operating entity that would focus on the consumer and wholesale aspects of the overhead door industry.

The name "Garage Door Depot®" was selected because it says exactly what we do - we sell garage doors and at the best prices and highest quality you'll find anywhere. From there the company began to grow and develop to what is now the single largest independent retailer of residential garage doors and related products in BC and among the largest in Western Canada.

In 2009, the company decided it was time to plan for the eventual expansion of the Garage Door Depot® brand across Canada and with that in mind, began to develop the Garage Door Depot® Franchise Program. A franchise model was chosen as it permits us to expand using a committed network of entrepreneurs who have a vested interest in the success of their operation as well as the company as a whole. The program was developed through 2009 and in early 2010 the company began actively marketing the new franchise program. Aside franchising, the core day to day business remains selling, installing and servicing garage doors to our growing base of retail consumers.

Being the best and demanding the best brings the best. With that very statement in mind, In early 2010, the Garage Door Depot® was selected by Costco Canada and Amarr Garage Doors to sell and promote Amarr Garage Doors and Liftmaster Garage Door Openers in all 8 Vancouver Lower Mainland area Costco stores by way of a staffed travelling "road-show" and in store kiosk program. The program is part of Costco's massive Special Order program and affords the Garage Door Depot® "exclusive" direct access to Costco members that are looking for a new garage door.
